I am the Son 03:33
i am the son of the devil and his tree you might have met me once in a fever dream i live out in the hills not far away and i got some sculptures made of clay i got goats with horns and six headed snakes headed down to the downtown honky tonk grab my cape and six string and take a walk the wilson brothers roll up taunting me then they lost control and hit a tree and i walked on by and watched em' bleed sittin in the crowd waiting my turn wondering when these folks are gonna learn these wannabe country singers make me sick and i'm usin' a drink ticket as a pick and i'm drinkin' whiskey just to get my wits finally up playing my melody the lights are hot and bright and it's hard to see there's a heckler in the crowd, he's calling to me and i started until my eyes filled with steam then i choked him harder than my fingers ever seen' here they come wrestle me to the floor tryin to get me out closer to the door none of these guys will live to tell the tale then one cracked me across the jaw with a pint of ale another shot me before they even brought me to jail! there i lay bruised and bleedin' on the lawn didn't even get to finish my damn song a spectral figure rises, drifts away deep down i know the devil will have his day maybe not today or tomorrow but that's all i'll say

Ballantine 02:06
traded it all for a bottle just a bottle of Ballantine riddle under the cap has you struggling and you're on your last bottle of Ballantine something i heard once, it was funny some kind of saying, think it goes something like "first you take a drink, then the drink takes a drink, then the drink takes you"

about

Songs recorded between april 1, 2020 and august 4, 2021 on my Tascam Portastudio 4 track cassette recorder. What started off as a joke turned into an earnest attempt at making a cohesive country folk album.
